  • The Biography-
  • Robert Hsu, an award-winning photographer based in New York City, is celebrating his 27th anniversary in the photographic arts. During these decades, Hsu has combed the Northeast of the United States to capture and reveal the priceless beauty of the mountains, forests, and streams of the region through the seasons and over the years.
  • His photographs often seem both objective and abstract; yet one common element connects them all: Mr. Hsu's work seeks to inspire all to commit to protecting, preserving, and appreciating our natural environment, now and for future generations. His lens is his voice; his photographs tell magnificent stories without words.
  • I am a proud graduate of Riverdale Country School having earned my diploma in the distinguished class of 1968. From the outset, I've pursued an education of the highest caliber, learning the disciplines of academia to achieve success. I ascended to the esteemed New York University to study mechanical engineering learning that a well-crafted design is an expression of art, requiring exactitude and intuition.
  • My quest for exactness extended beyond the precision of mathematics and design. I turned my life and years to the study of the natural world discovering that Mother Nature with her patient creation of perfection, stood as our most exemplary teacher. It became evident that we place our faith and trust in humanity to assume the role of her most responsible caretaker to safeguard this perfection.
  • Driven by my unwavering passion and deep curiosity, I dedicate my time to the art of photography and the written word, with the ultimate goal of preserving and protecting Earth's natural beauty. This journey culminates in my book, "Beauty & Chaos," a heartfelt testament to my love for our planet. "Beauty & Chaos" is more than a pictorial essay, it is a powerful narrative that juxtaposes the ineffable beauty of our world with the chaos inflicted upon it by the energy behemoths.
  • Through countless expeditions into the woodlands of the Northeast United States, I sought to capture the fleeting moments of Earth's splendor. Each photograph is a testament to the ephemeral beauty of our planet that is increasingly threatened by the effects of global warming.
  • Informative and appealing to a diverse audience including students, seasoned environmentalists, and activists it arouses a collective consciousness to the ever-changing world.
  • My sincere hope is my work will inspire all to preserve the beauty of our natural world. It is a clarion call, a plea for awareness, and a celebration of Earth, waiting to be protected for countless generations to come.
